A lifelong guitar enthusiast and player, Craig is 54 years old and has been working for himself for the last 20 years. As someone who grew up completely in love with music, and in particular, the guitar… this is, by far, the most fun and exciting project he has ever worked on. Originally from NYC and currently living in Tampa, Florida for the last 14 years. Graduated college with a degree in Accounting, worked as a CPA with a Big 6 firm, got into sales, then ran his own Estate Planning and asset management firm from 1994 to 2000. In 1999, Craig got heavily into learning about direct-response marketing and since March of 2000, has run a marketing consulting firm. Craig has worked in over 108 different industries - consulting with businesses on generating leads, building sales funnels, developing marketing systems, and writing ad copy. Craig is very stable - you’ll always be talking to the same “Craig.” Doesn’t matter if you call at 5pm on a Monday afternoon, or 9 am on a Thursday morning. He has been with my wife for 26 years - they have 3 children (2 boys and a girl) & 1 grandchild. He is in great shape, has a tremendous work ethic, and hobbies include playing guitar, working out, traveling, photography, fishing, good cigars and good coffee. He loves being an entrepreneur and is always looking for new projects and side hustles, when he has the time for them.
Ariel talks about gigging on your own vs gigging as a band member, his favorite guitars, how he gets his consistently warm tone, taking things personally, what to do when you’re having a bad day, moving from Canada to Ireland, and more. Steve’s held down the lead guitar slot with Our Lady Peace since 2002, and he is also a successful Television and Movie composer and performer. Great story about how Steve got the gig with OLP, things that have kept him humble, how he manages being a celebrity and an introvert, at the same time… handling anxiety, trusting yourself, keeping an open mind to doing new activities, and more.
