Dan Leeson is a self-employed trader, and Host of the 2 Bulls in a China Shop podcast. His trading strategies include options, swing, and futures trades, with a focus on chart analysis. Dan’s interest in stocks began at an early age, and he made his first trade as a pre-teen. As a young adult he continued pursuing an education in trading by consuming whatever information he could find through books and videos, and dabbling in the market.Dan’s musical talents and love of music kept him busy as a performing musician, through which he mastered audio engineering skills, and he supported his performance schedule with a variety of interesting jobs. He has driven semis, been a bookseller, and a department head for a large retailer. His love of performing even led him to a stuntman job at Old Tucson as an outlaw, where he appeared on the BBC television show, Stephen Fry in America. Dan is also an entrepreneur who has several businesses. While juggling his businesses, day jobs, and performance gigs, Dan first attended Pima College, studying computer programming, then moved to business administration studies through University of the People.During the 2020 lockdowns, Dan and his lifelong friend Kyle Hedman began getting more interested in active trading. They started talking daily and developed a dynamic of support while laughing at their own mistakes, and learning to be better traders together. Dan’s love of performing, audio engineering skills, and the humorous dynamic between the friends made the perfect combination for starting a podcast. Dan and Kyle co-founded Financial Ineptitude, Inc., and the 2 Bulls in a China Shop podcast, with the mission to share their learning journey. The podcast opened up educational opportunities, peer networks, and tools that enabled Dan to retire from his most recent career in hotel management in 2021 to become a full-time trader.
