Dan Wang is a Canadian-born technology analyst and author of Breakneck: China’s Quest to Engineer the Future. A research fellow at Stanford’s Hoover Institution, he previously worked at Gavekal Dragonomics and Yale Law School’s Paul Tsai China Center. Known for his annual China letters (2017–2023), Wang explores China’s rise as an “engineering state” and contrasts it with the U.S.'s “lawyerly society.”
