Daveed Diggs is an American actor, rapper, and singer. Diggs gained widespread recognition for his dual roles as Marquis de Lafayette and Thomas Jefferson in the original Broadway cast of Hamilton (2015), earning him both a Tony Award and a Grammy. A skilled rapper, he is also the lead vocalist for the experimental hip-hop group Clipping, known for its innovative sound and socially conscious lyrics. Diggs co-wrote, produced, and starred in the 2018 film Blindspotting, a powerful exploration of racial and social issues in Oakland, which received critical acclaim and became a series adaptation in 2021. He has since appeared in shows like Black-ish (2016-2018), Snowpiercer, portraying the lead role of Andre Layton, Wonder (2017), and Disney’s The Little Mermaid (2023).
