Principal at Community Planning Collaborative and subject matter expert in affordable housing, Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs), urban planning, and sustainability. For nearly 30 years, David has been devoted to helping empower informed residents to engage with their local governments. In addition to his work at Community Planning Collaborative, he served for eight years as Boulder, Colorado’s Executive Director of Planning, Housing and Sustainability, overseeing energy, climate and zero waste initiatives as well as long-range planning, affordable housing, development review and redevelopment. He subsequently served as Seattle’s Deputy Director of Planning and Community Development, helping build a new department focused on equitable development and integrated cross-department planning and action.
