David Longstreth (born December 17, 1981) is an American singer, songwriter, guitarist, and record producer best known as the lead vocalist and principal creative force behind the indie rock band Dirty Projectors, which he has fronted since 2002 and with whom he has released ten studio albums. Known for his experimental compositions and distinctive sound, Longstreth has also composed the score for the 2025 fantasy adventure film The Legend of Ochi, directed by Isaiah Saxon and released by A24. His collaborative work includes projects with Solange, Bombino, and Joanna Newsom, and he co-wrote the 2015 hit single “FourFiveSeconds” by Rihanna, Kanye West, and Paul McCartney.
