David Rennie is a political journalist. Currently, he is the Geopolitics Editor at The Economist, where he also writes the "Telegram" column, which analyses and explains world affairs.
Previously, Rennie was The Economist’s Beijing Bureau Chief and the author of its "Chaguan" column, the British political editor and author of the "Bagehot" column, the European Union correspondent and author of the "Charlemagne" column, and the Washington bureau chief and author of the "Lexington" column.
Prior to working at The Economist, Rennie was a foreign correspondent for the Daily Telegraph, with postings in Sydney, Beijing, Washington DC and Brussels. He also worked as contributing editor of Spectator magazine.
