Diane C. Fujino is an Asian-American researcher, educator, and activist. Currently, she is Chair of the Department of Asian American Studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Her teaching and research focus on Japanese American history, Asian American activism, and Afro-Asian solidarities.
Fujino's first book, "Heartbeat of Struggle: The Revolutionary Life of Yuri Kochiyama," was published in 2005.
Fujino's activist work focuses on Asian American issues, political prisoners, antiwar struggles, education, and the development of community and the commons.
Fujino received her Ph.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles.
