Douglas Emhoff is an American lawyer and the first Second Gentleman of the United States, serving in this role since January 2021, following the inauguration of his wife, Vice President Kamala Harris. Emhoff has built a distinguished career as an entertainment and intellectual property lawyer, working with major firms such as DLA Piper, where he was a partner specializing in media, sports, and complex litigation. He earned his law degree from the University of Southern California and has been admitted to practice law in California and Washington, D.C. Emhoff is also an advocate for justice, gender equality, and support for small businesses, and has played a public role in promoting the Biden-Harris administration’s key initiatives.
