His career spans roles in the U.S. Department of Defense and State Department, where he has been instrumental in developing key defense strategies and serving as a political advisor. Dr. Green is a decorated public servant, having received multiple awards for his outstanding contributions. He is also an accomplished author, with five books and numerous publications on defense, security, and counterinsurgency topics. His scholarly work includes more than 60 award-winning papers and articles in various military and policy journals. Dr. Green's expertise in Afghan culture and special operations has been recognized through his contributions to academic publications. He holds a Ph.D. and MPhil in Political Science from George Washington University and a Masters in International Affairs from Florida State University, underlining his strong academic background in addition to his practical experience in defense and diplomacy.
