Dr. Ellen R. Wald is an energy historian and journalist. Her research focuses on how governments and energy businesses interact globally. Her work examines how policy, wars, diplomacy, the stock market, oil pricing, and innovation impact the future of energy. Wald is the president of Transversal Consulting, an energy consulting firm. She is also a Senior Fellow at the Atlantic Council and a columnist for Arab News. Wald's first book, "Saudi, Inc.," was published in 2018. Wald received her Ph.D. in history from Boston University and her AB in history, Near Eastern studies, and creative writing from Princeton University. She teaches Middle East history and policy.
