Senior Matron for Medicine and Dementia Lead Nurse for Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust. Emily's research focused on the care of people with dementia in acute hospital settings and her PhD explored how the work system influences nursing staff capacity for high quality relationship centred dementia care. Her research was mostly underpinned by qualitative methodology and in particular ethnographic methods. Having left a clinical career to go into academia, Emily has now returned to put her academic training to use on the front line in the NHS.
