Ed Newton-Rex is a composer, technologist, and entrepreneur recognized for his pioneering work in artificial intelligence and music. He founded Jukedeck, one of the first startups to use AI to compose original music, which was later acquired by ByteDance, the parent company of TikTok. At ByteDance, he served as Director of Product for its AI Lab and worked on creative AI initiatives. Newton-Rex has also held leadership roles at Stability AI and served as VP of Audio at the generative AI company, Voicemod. He's also a classically trained musician and Cambridge graduate.
