Dr. Edna Bonhomme is a science historian, culture writer, and editor. Her work explores how people navigate negative states of health, especially contagious outbreaks, medical experiments, reproductive assistance, or illness narratives.Bonhomme's cultural criticism, features, book reviews, and opinion pieces have appeared in Al Jazeera, The Atlantic, The Baffler, Berliner Zeitung, Esquire, Frieze, The Guardian, London Review of Books, The Nation, and WIRED. Her first book, "Captive Contagions," was published in 2023, and her second book, the memoir "Tending to our Wounds: A History of Haiti, New York, Berlin, and Me," was published in 2024.Bonhomme received her B.A. in Biology, her M.P.H. in Public Health from Columbia University, and her Ph.D. in History of Science from Princeton University.
