Elecia White has written software for DNA scanners, inertial measurement units for airplanes and race cars, toys for preschoolers, a gunshot location system for catching criminals, and assorted other medical and consumer devices. Elecia is the author of Making Embedded Systems: Design Patterns for Great Systems from O'Reilly. She is also the host of Embedded, a podcast about engineering and life.
Alana Sherman of the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute (MBARI, @MBARI_News) spoke with us about engineering for deep sea environments and jelly creatures.
