Dr. Emily Menon Bender is a linguist who specializes in computational linguistics and natural language processing. Currently, she is a Professor at the University of Washington, where she is also Director of their Computational Linguistics Laboratory. Bender has published several papers on the risks of large language models and on ethics in natural language processing, and she has published 4 books on linguistics and on artificial intelligence.
