Eric A. Nelson is the Southern California Division Vice President of Community Development for Trumark Homes since 2013. In addition to his roles and responsibilities at Trumark Homes, Nelson currently serves as the Chair of the City of Dana Point Planning Commission and serves on the Building Industry Association of Southern California (BIAOC) 2024 Executive Committee as the Immediate Past President.
During his career, Nelson has overseen the entitlement and development of technically complicated and politically contentious projects in jurisdictions throughout California and the western United States and is equally adept at resolving technical issues while interfacing with elected officials and community stakeholders. His background in land use planning, entitlement processing and development spans more than two decades. During that time, his role in planning, community outreach and land use approvals resulted in thousands of residential units and millions of square feet of commercial space. Nelson is a resident of Dana Point and native Californian. Additional current and past professional affiliations and memberships include League of California Cities, Urban Land Institute, American Planning Institute, United States Green Building Council, and International Council of Shopping Centers.
