Gary Rowett is an English professional football manager and former player. As a defender, he played in the Premier League for Everton, Derby County, Leicester City, and Charlton Athletic, and also had stints with clubs including Birmingham City and Millwall. Rowett began his managerial career with Burton Albion in 2012, leading them to promotion from League Two, and subsequently managed Birmingham City, Derby County, Stoke City, and Millwall. His teams are known for organized defensive structures and competitive performances in the EFL Championship. He was most recently head coach of Oxford United in the EFL Championship.
