Ghassan Hage is a Lebanese-Australian anthropologist and a critic of racism and nationalism at the University of Melbourne, Australia. He has held a number of visiting professorships including at the American University of Beirut, University of Nanterre – Paris X, the University of Copenhagen and Harvard. He has published several books on immigration, race and refugees in Australia. In 2024 Hage gained prominence after dismissal by the Max Planck Society in 2024 for his views on Israel's 2023 Gaza war.
