Dr. Heath W. Carter is associate professor of American Christianity at Princeton Theological Seminary, where he teaches and writes about the intersection of Christianity and American public life.
Carter has edited several books about American history and Evangelicalism. He also co-edits Eerdmans’s "Library of Religious Biography" series. His work has appeared in The New Republic, The Christian Century, Sojourners, Christianity Today, Comment, Books & Culture, Education & Culture, Patheos, OUPblog, and Religion in American History. His first book, "Union Made: Working People and the Rise of Social Christianity in Chicago," was published in 2015.
Previously, Carter taught at Valparaiso University. He received his B.A. in English and theology from Georgetown University, his M.A. from the University of Chicago Divinity School, and his Ph.D. in history from the University of Notre Dame.
