Dr. Hussein Yusuf Kamal Ibish is an expert on the Middle East. Currently, he is a resident scholar at the Arab Gulf States Institute in Washington.Previously, Ibish was the Washington DC correspondent for The Daily Star (Beirut). He was a senior fellow at the American Task Force on Palestine, and executive director of the Hala Salaam Maksoud Foundation for Arab-American Leadership. Before that, he was communications director for the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee.Ibish writes a weekly column for Bloomberg and The National (UAE), and is a regular contributor to other U.S. and Middle Eastern publications. He was the editor and principal author of three studies of hate crimes and discrimination against Arab Americans. His book, "What's Wrong with the One-State Agenda? Why Ending the Occupation and Peace with Israel is Still the Palestinian National Goal," was published in 2009.Ibish received his B.A. in Mass Communication from Emerson College and his Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
