Dr. Isabella M. Weber is a German-born political economist working on China, global trade and the history of economic thought. She is on faculty at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She is author of “How China escaped shock therapy: The market reform debate” (2021), and appears in a variety of popular media such as The Guardian, Jacobin, and others.
