Janis Ian is a singer-songwriter, writer, and narrator. She is the CEO of the record label Rude Girl Records and the publisher Rude Girl Publishing, both of which she founded in 1992. Ian's first hit single, "Society's Child (Baby I've Been Thinking)", was released in 1965. Her first full album, "Janis Ian," was released in 1967. She went on to release over two dozen albums and to win two Grammy awards. Ian began writing and pubilshing science fiction, in 2001.
