Jeff Akin is the VP at Akin Collective and an Administrator with the State of Oregon Department of Human Services. He's a leader that believes people are the most important investment we can make. His mission is to improve the lives of those in his interactions by actively listening, giving authentic feedback and helping to unleash their true potential.He has always had a deep yearning to help other people achieve greatness. That's why he spends so much time trying to understand what makes them tick; how they function day-to-day; what motivates them; what challenges them—all so he can more effectively help them become who they were truly meant to be (even if it means getting out of their way).His background includes being an Administrator for the State of Oregon's Department of Human Services where he was responsible for overseeing more than 4 million dollars in funding to help improve the quality of life for people living in long-term care while also providing services for children and adults with disabilities. He developed a strong appreciation for how public policy impacts individuals and communities in both positive and negative ways. Having seen first hand how government programs provide stability during times of crisis or act as barriers to success in other areas, it became very important to reduce operating budgets by more than 12%, lead statewide initiatives to change minds, processes and outcomes in regards to background checks, and, most importantly to participate in the growth and development of the many people he works with and influences.He has worked in media and entertainment as a broadcaster and in multiple roles in pro wrestling. This has given him the unique ability to lead and teach in a fun and engaging way!
