It’s fall and that means new games, exciting updates to old favorites, and perhaps saying goodbye to some old friends. Xbox recently released details on pricing programs for their new consoles. Are you the type of gamer that has to have the consoles pre-ordered, paid for and delivered on Day 1? Or would the idea of a monthly subscription fee for use of a new console appeal to you? Either way Xbox seems to have you covered. They want our cash, now can they deliver the content that will make the jump worthwhile? Tom thinks the end-times are near for Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes. It seems the release of several long-waited-for characters and little else, spells the end. Only time will tell if his prediction holds true. Besides SWGoH, Tom has been playing Roll for the Galaxy online. It sounds like quite a steep learning curve, but will appeal to strategic gamers who appreciate resource allocation and probability tables. Despite only winning a single game in eight attempts Tom still grants it a satisfying three strips of bacon. Anna meanwhile is at peak anticipation for the ACNH fall update. No details are known on what we will be getting for free this fall, but she’s been working furiously preparing her island for the new fall color palette. Meanwhile JT and Myron have pretty much left the Animal Crossing world, and Tom, well he never ventured into Tom Nook’s island paradise. Will Anna get her long hoped-for features, or are we headed for Bunny Day Part Deux? Remember to look for all episodes of our podcasts on iTunes, Stitcher, and TuneIn. In this episode we talk about some new and possibly exciting news for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers. Soon you will be able to play over 100 games on your Android mobile devices through Project xCloud. Will this prospect be appealing to gamers, or are mobile devices not well suited to console gaming? Only time will tell as Microsoft rolls out this new offering. We move on from Xbox news to discussing the summer fun to be had in Overcooked 2. With the Suns Out, Buns Out update we’ve got all new maps and summer recipes to keep our coop party going. Ever dreamt of traversing a parade float while delivering a fruit salad? Well this update is for you! The levels are entertaining and difficult; with loads of entertainment for the whole family. Finally, GenCon 2020 was a little different this year. For the first time in its history, GenCon was an online only event. This year we participated remotely, joining a couple of games. While we miss the experience of walking the exhibition hall, meeting vendors, and in-person play, we all agree that online content is a welcomed addition to the Con. Hopefully next year we’ll see a return to the convention hall, but with continued online content to round out the experience. In this episode we spend most of our time discussing the new Advanced Player’s Guide for Pathfinder 2e. Tom couldn’t be more excited about the new archetypes. In fact, he’s so excited he’s already picked out archetypes for all of the players. Only time will tell if we players approve of his choices. Meanwhile, JT is still pining away for her hard-copy. Will it ever arrive? Or will JT be forced to settle for mere PDF’s?  Tom uses the Pathfinder discussion to delve deeper into why we play pen and paper RPG’s. What led us to our first RPG experience and what keeps us coming back? We each have our own ‘origin’ story when it comes to roll-playing, but all agree that the camaraderie and experience of crafting a story with friends is what keeps us coming back for more. In this episode we discuss a little bit of everything. Animal Crossing’s summer update has arrived and Anna and JT are thoroughly enjoying adventures with Pascal. Meanwhile, Myron and Anna took a break from Minecraft Dungeons to play Children of Morta. This story-based action RPG roguelike game, has a great story and quirky 16-bit graphics. The combat is brutal and unforgiving, but the story and narration make it compelling enough to keep coming back. Tom, on the other hand, has been spending some quality time with the Minecraft Dungeons DLC. The new loot and levels are spicing up the game for him. But really all we want to talk about is our latest Pathfinder adventure. We get back to a little combat on the road to the Iron Citadel. Tom assures us that we will make it to the Citadel soon and that Fifi lies in a room somewhere therein. Only time will tell if we can make it there in time to rescue the poor pooch.
