Dr. John Fabian Witt is a professor of law and history at Yale University. Witt has published several books, including "Lincoln’s Code: The Laws of War in American History" (2013); "American Contagions: Epidemics and the Law from Smallpox to COVID-19" (2020); and "The Radical Fund: How a Band of Visionaries and a Million Dollars Upended America" (2025).
