Jonathan C. Slaght is a wildlife biologist, conservationist, and author known for his research on birds of prey in northeastern Asia. He works with the Wildlife Conservation Society, where he studies the ecology and conservation of species including the Blakiston’s fish owl, one of the world’s largest and rarest owls. Slaght has conducted long term field research in the Russian Far East, focusing on habitat protection and species recovery. He is the author of Owls of the Eastern Ice: A Quest to Find and Save the World’s Largest Owl, which documents his fieldwork and conservation efforts in remote forest ecosystems.
