Judith Flanders is a historian, journalist and author, who is especially interested in the Victorian period.
Flanders's articles articles, features, and reviews appear in a number of newspapers and magazines. Her first book, "A Circle of Sisters," was published in 2001, and was nominated for the Guardian First Book Award. Her subsequent books are "The Victorian House" (2003), "Consuming Passions" (2006), "The Invention of Murder" (2011), and "The Victorian City: Everyday Life in Dickens’ London" (2012). She has also written four mystery fiction novels.
Before becoming a full-time writer, Flanders was an editor for various publishing houses in London.
