Julian Patrick Barnes is an author. Although he primarily writes novels and short stories, he has also published essays and non-fiction. He has also published under the pen name Dan Kavanagh. Barnes's first novel, "Metroland," was published in 1980. His 11th novel, "The Sense of an Ending," published in 2011, won the Man Booker Prize.
