Kasra Aarabi is a researcher and analyst who focuses on Iran’s military and security structures, especially the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), and Shi’a Islamist extremism. He is the director of IRGC research at United Against Nuclear Iran (UANI), where he oversees analysis of the IRGC’s role in Tehran’s domestic repression and regional activities, and he contributes to policy discussions and testimony before parliaments on Iran’s security threats. Aarabi previously led the Iran program at the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change and has been a non‑resident scholar at the Middle East Institute in Washington. He holds an MA in international relations and a BA in international politics from King’s College London and is pursuing a PhD at the University of St Andrews with research focused on the IRGC. Aarabi’s work appears in outlets such as Foreign Policy, and he regularly provides commentary to international media on developments in Iran’s regime and security policies.
