Kate Folk is a fiction writer based in San Francisco.
Folk's work has appeared in The New Yorker, The New York Times Magazine, Granta, One Story, Zyzzyva, and other places. Her first book, the short story collection "Out There," was published in 2022.
Folk was a Stegner Fellow in Fiction at Stanford University.
Folk received her B.A. in Individualized Study from New York University and her M.F.A. in Creative Writing from the University of San Francisco.
