Kate Silverton is a child counsellor, parenting author, and former television journalist based in the United Kingdom. She retrained in children’s mental health after a 25‑year career in broadcast journalism with the BBC, where she presented national news bulletins and reported from conflict zones including Iraq and Afghanistan. Silverton holds a BSc in psychology and has worked clinically with young children, often in partnership with the children’s mental health charity Place2Be, focusing on emotional regulation and development. She is the author of the Sunday Times bestselling parenting guides *There’s No Such Thing as ‘Naughty’* and *There’s Still No Such Thing as ‘Naughty*, which offer strategies for supporting emotional well‑being and behaviour in early and middle childhood.
