Katrijn Ralston (known by screen name Katie Halliday), began her sound career after graduating Humber College's Film and Television Production Program in 2008. She worked for several years in Toronto. In her time there, she accumulated several awards and nominations, including a Genie and Gemini nomination, Director's Guild of Canada awards and a Canadian Screen Award. She had a successful freelance career in Canada, working with Academy Award winning director Guillermo del Toro on his television series The Strain. In 2016, she moved to Los Angeles, California, to continue to grow her career as a sound effects editor and sound designer. Since then she has gone on to work on to such shows as Stranger Things and I Am Not Okay With This, to name a few. In 2020 she won the Emmy for Outstanding Sound Editing in a Comedy or Drama Series (One Hour) for her contributions to the TV series Stranger Things, Chapter Eight: The Battle for Starcourt. She continues to work in Los Angeles as a freelancer.
