Lewis Henry Lapham is a writer and editor. He writes the Notebook column for Harper's Magazine.
Lapham worked for the San Francisco Examiner and the New York Herald Tribune. From 1976 to 2006, he was the editor of Harper's. He then founded Lapham's Quarterly, a new journal about history.
Lapham's first book, "Fortune's Child," was published in 1980. He has published fifteen books about politics and current affairs.
