Lindsay is Australian Dad to four kids and currently starting a new chapter of his life. In that chapter, he couldn't tell you where it's going and which direction it’ll head but who doesn't love a roller-coaster?
Lindsay suffers from cumulative PTSD as a result of 20 years of service in blue for his state. He had years of managing staff daily and dealing with the job he also had to face.
Lindsay has seen a lot of life's tragedies. Sadness and moments of disbelief.
He was injured badly during my previous occupation, has never recovered even post-surgery, and is now suffering from chronic pain. Optimistically, however, his injury allowed him to address his deteriorating mental health.
Then during a mountain bike ride last March (2022), he fractured my C4/C5 in his neck in a serve accident. But he was extremely lucky given the two other serious results that he could have faced during my accident. He faced some low and sad moments as he recovered but understood time was his best friend to heal these injuries.
Now he is medically retired from his previous career. His PTSD is what the health professionals label as "Stable". That's a good thing.
On the anniversary of his bike accident, he released a young children's book, "Why Fun Always Wins". This was a fun thing he could do as he was sitting on his deck recovering in my neck brace!
Lindsay’s health, fitness and nutrition have always been important to him, and he still works hard on his fitness, even with the physical hurdles. Fitness and remaining healthy are key components to his overall health and mental health.
He strongly believes that good management in any workforce will provide great outcomes for the goal of the business or community. Poor management styles (and he has seen a lot) will let a team, and individuals down and result in poor outcomes for all parties involved.
Lindsay loves to laugh, have good humour and 'muck around'. He has been known as a prankster, and joker and sometimes must raise my hand to let people know that he is attempting to be serious.
He loves to exercise, cricket, sports, surfing, being a dad, and be a good husband and when his cup isn't full, loves to help others and my community.
Lindsay is not sure what his next career will be, or what his next chapter title will be. But he is slowly, enjoying the new opportunities that he has.
What he hopes that he can pass on to your listeners, is to keep going in life AND that they're never alone in sad or bad times of their lives.
