Lizzie Presser is a writer, journalist, and researcher. Currently, she is a reporter at ProPublica. Her work focuses on inequality, how social policy is experienced, and health.
Previously, Presser was a contributing writer for The California Sunday Magazine. Her writing has appeared in The New Yorker, The New York Times Magazine, The Guardian, This American Life, Harper's, and elsewhere. Her stories on diabetic amputations and kidney disease won the National Magazine Award for Public Service in 2021. “The Dispossessed” won a George Polk Award for Magazine Reporting and a John Bartlow Martin Award in 2020.
Presser received her B.A. in Classics from Princeton University and her M.A. in Public Policy from University of Cambridge.
