Lizzy Caplan is an American actress. She gained recognition for her breakout role as Janis Ian in Mean Girls (2004) and later earned critical acclaim for her portrayal of Virginia Johnson in the Showtime series Masters of Sex (2013–2016), which earned her a Primetime Emmy nomination. Caplan has also starred in films such as Cloverfield (2008), Now You See Me 2 (2016), and Extinction (2018). She has taken on prominent television roles in Castle Rock (2019) and Fleishman Is in Trouble (2022).
