Lore Segal is a writer, translator, and teacher. She writes short stories, novels, and children's books. Much of her work is informed by her experiences as a refugee from Nazi-occupied Austria, one of the first children sent to England as part of the Kindertransport.
Segal has taught writing at Columbia University, Princeton, Bennington, Sarah Lawrence, the University of Illinois, and Ohio State, from which she retired in 1996.
Segal has published five novels, starting with "Other People's Houses," which was published in 1964.
