Lucy Kay McBath is an advocate and politician. Currently, she represents Georgia's 7th congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives. She created a foundation, Champion in the Making Legacy, to help high school graduates continue their education and training.
Before entering politics, McBath was a flight attendant. However, in 2012, her son was shot. Following her son's death, she joined Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America as a national spokeswoman, and the Mothers of the Movement, which consists of African American women whose children have been killed by gun violence.
McBath received her B.A. in Political Science and English from Virginia State University.
