Makena Kelly is a journalist who writes about politics and the internet. Currently, she is a reporter at The Verge. Kelly has been covering both the federal regulation of technology companies like Facebook and Google, and how politicians and advocates leverage social media to run for office and organize. Before joining The Verge, Kelly covered Congress for CQ Roll Call and breaking news for the Lincoln Journal Star. Kelly received her B.A. in Journalism from Nebraska Wesleyan University, where she was editor-in-Chief of the student newspaper.
