Herrmann is originally from Tambach-Dietharz in Thuringia. After studying media informatics and design at the University of Bielefeld, he moved to Berlin. After various jobs in social media editorial departments in the capital, Herrmann found his way to Florida TV, where he produced the show Circus HalliGalli, hosted by Joko Winterscheidt and Klaas Heufer-Umlauf, and worked as an editor. As part of the ensemble there, he won the Grimme Prize, among other awards.
In 2013, Herrmann published his novel Aaarfz, which was published by DuMont Verlag.
Since June 2015, Herrmann has been running the podcast Gästeliste Geisterbahn with Nilz Bokelberg and Donnie O'Sullivan, produced by Pool Artists, in which they share entertaining experiences from their lives, talk about bizarre things that are currently on their minds, and answer questions from the podcast's community. At irregular intervals, the format is recorded live in front of an audience.
He also runs his blog Herm's Farm and the soccer blog Falsche Neun.
Since 2015, Herrmann has been working as a freelance consultant and concept developer.
Herrmann lives in Augsburg and has been married to his wife Bianca since August 2017.
