Martina Evans is a poet and novelist. Currently, she is Royal Literary Fund Advisory Fellow and poetry reviewer for the Irish Times. Evans's first book, the poetry collection "Iniscarra Bar and Cycle Rest," was published in 1995. She has published three novels and eight collections of poetry. Evans received her degree in English and Philosophy from the Open University.
