Matthea Harvey is a poet and writer. Currently, she is a Professor of Poetry at Sarah Lawrence College.
Harvey has published four collections of poetry. Her first, "Pity the Bathtub Its Forced Embrace of the Human Form," was published in 2000. Her collection "Modern Life," which was published in 2007, received the 2009 Kingsley Tufts Poetry Award, was a finalist for the 2007 National Book Critics Circle Award, and was a New York Times Notable Book.
Harvey received her undergraduate degree from Harvard University and her M.F.A. in Creative Writing from the University of Iowa.
