Mercedes has been a writer for the majority of her life. What started out as a hobby became an aspiration the day her parents brought home their first desktop computer in 2003. Fast forward to present day and she’s obtained two degrees in television and film, both with emphases in screenwriting. Her genre of choice is Horror (both as a writer and a viewer), her favorite movie of all time is Coraline, and The WODC Writers Group as we know it today is her creative brain child.
Her writing mantra: “You’re way better than you think. Even if you think a concept is stupid or that script is turning out to be total trash, if an idea won’t leave you alone, if you keep feeling the need to persist, that’s proof you’re meant to write it. Nine times out of ten, you’ll dig up the script after some time apart and think, ‘Wow, I’m a genius!’”
