Dr Michael Bonshor is a Music Psychologist, specialising in musical wellbeing and positive psychology. For his MA, his research explored strategies for the management of performance anxiety amongst amateur singers, and his PhD focused on confidence building for participants in group singing. Since completing his thesis, Michael has contributed to research projects on community music-making, the health benefits of singing in choirs, and the wellbeing effects of participating in brass band playing. He currently teaches on the MA Music Psychology course at the University of Sheffield, and facilitates Continuing Professional Development events using singing-related skills and performance psychology to enhance holistic wellbeing.
