Michael Calvey is an American businessman and private equity investor best known as the founder of Baring Vostok Capital Partners, one of the largest and most influential private equity firms focused on investments in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States. Born in 1967, he began his career in finance at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and later at Salomon Brothers before establishing Baring Vostok in 1994.
