Michael Simpson is a Professor Emeritus of Environmental Studies at Antioch University, with over 40 years of experience in water resources, watershed management, and materials management. A certified Wetlands Scientist, he has conducted extensive applied research in collaboration with NOAA and the US EPA, focusing on the impacts of climate change within changing landscapes, integrating stakeholder development processes and economic analyses. In materials management, Simpson has worked with the International Solid Waste Association in Rotterdam, developing measures to assess the circular economy in cities and regions across the EU and the Global South. His expertise spans environmental policy, sustainability, and practical solutions for waste management and climate adaptation.
