FANS: Recorded live from A Shared Universe PodcaStudio in Eatontown, NJ, CF3 is joined by two Jersey boys and veterans of the show--Ming Chen of AMC's Comic Book Men and video game world record holder Matt Miller. We chat about Ming & Mike Zapcic's studio, Jay & Silent Bob's Secret Stash and the Reboot Roadshow, Ming's adventures in Omaha, Cobra Kai, and MOTU vs. G.I. Joe. FILMS: Try not to wax off during our expansive segment on The Karate Kid (1984), the classic tale of good vs. evil. Or is it evil vs. evil? We get into that. Ming informs us that he and Kevin Smith almost recreated the Karate Kid date night. We leave no stone unturned, no radio unsmashed, no bicycle uncrashed, and no bottle unchopped when we offer this flick up to the Cultfilmometer! FINDS: Your CF3 trio is joined by "our" Kevin Smith to discuss November's biggest cult film Blu-ray/DVD releases provided by Bruce Holecheck's Cinema Arcana blog. We talk Castlevania, Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, Flowers in the Attic, MST3K and more.
FANS: We say goodbye to Karen Kaske, a fellow fan who left us too soon. Ming Chen (A Shared Universe PodcaStudio) fields questions about the taping of AMC's Comic Book Men, working with Kevin Smith, college sports fandom & his favorite cult films, which include Made and two Christian Slater flicks. FILMS: We review and discuss 1994's Clerks, which launched the career of Kevin Smith. Ming tells us how his love of this film led to a career working with Kev on View Askew websites, SmodCo podcasts and eventually Comic Book Men. We all try not to be #37! FINDS: DC Universe pulls the plug on Swamp Thing. We hassle Steve Fodor of Too Much Scrolling about Aladdin (2019).
