Vol. 2 Ep. 16 Matthew Harris (True North Views)
This week brings us a Those People installment of our “Pod People” section of the volume we’re joined by podcasters who cover the types of people we’re talking to. In volume 2 we’re kicking it with creative professionals so this week we’re joined by Matthew Harris - a Podcast Host who covers hip-hop culture through a “True North” point of view. Based in Toronto he’s a financial planner and amateur boxer by day and his show “True North Views” is a weekly breakdown of the culture with a heavy focus on music along with his co-host Shola. Harris and I were first brought together through a fan group of the Joe Budden Podcast and together with some others from there and outside have established a community of fellow creators from the Culture called Blank Kanvas to share work, ideas, inspirations and resources. Harris is self described as one of Those…#Feminist-ally, #alwaystriestoseeBothSidesoftheArguement, & #black People. You can follow him on on Twitter @M2H4 & the show @truenorthviews on Twitter, IG or Youtube. In this episode of our 2nd Volume of Those People exploring “Creative People” Mitch is joined on the show by Maverik - a Radio Personality, Musician, Rapper, and Lifestyle Entrepreneur based here in Boston MA. Mav has been a mainstay on Boston’s #1 Hip-Hop station for years and has carved out a growing niche as an artist himself along the way. We met in person recently for the recording of his music video for “Pharrell” his newest single, and he was gracious enough to carve out an hour for me to break down his journey throughout Massachusetts schools, arts scene, and black culture. *BONUS* Ep 14 Pascal Garoute (Multi-Medium Creator & Streamer) (Late2Work Re-Post)
This is a re-post of an episode of Late2Work, Mitch's first podcast. Mitch and his former co-host Chris sit down with Pascal Garoute a streamer, creator, artist and musician to talk about their creative process, idenitity and family.  This episode was one of the inspirations for Those People to later be created, and we've decided to rerun this episode, with all it's flaws - of which there are many 🤦🏽‍♂️- as a bonus contribution to our Volume Two series on "Creators" . ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: Chris and Mitch interview mixed-media Artist Pascal Garoute about everything from surviving a pyramid scheme to transitioning from small-town Oklahoma to city life in Boston, and all the race, culture and relationships that went into it. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/thosepeople/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/thosepeople/support

Vol. 2 Ep. 12 Jackie Kamel (Singer, Songwriter, Pop Performer)
In our 2nd episode of our 2nd Volume of Those People exploring “Creative People” Mitch is joined on the show by singer, songwriter, entertainer and pop performer Jackie Kamel! Jackie is a longtime friend and college classmate of Mitch’s who has recorded with grammy-nominated producers, performed at music festivals around the country and joins us to discuss her journey from North Carolina, to Massachusetts, Colorado to Georgia, all to land in her current hometown of Brooklyn, NY making honest, authentic pop for the people. We talk about a lot more than that though, including the effect of America’s overprescription epidemic on her family, not knowing any black people growing up because of North Carolina’s public school system and the influence of Krav Maga on her outlook on music. Jackie’s debut EP - “The JK EP” - dropped just about a year ago, and she’s back to talk about her upcoming project, “Everything You Wanted” and her new singles “Texas” & “Love You More” (Available now on Spotify & Apple Music).
