Negin Farsad is an American comedian, filmmaker, writer, and political activist known for using humor to explore issues of race, religion, and social justice. She directed and starred in the documentary The Muslims Are Coming! (2012), which follows Muslim-American comedians touring the U.S. to combat Islamophobia through stand-up comedy. Farsad has also been featured on NPR, MSNBC, and TED Talks, where she discusses “social justice comedy.” A graduate of Cornell University and Columbia University, where she earned degrees in government and race relations, she has written for major publications and released a comedic memoir, How to Make White People Laugh (2016).
